Overview
About 5% of the Brazilian population is deaf and most of them can only communicate in Brazilian sign language. 32% of the deaf have no schooling. The social inclusion of the deaf is still impacted by cultural issues and communication barriers. In the context of the church, this also limits deaf access to services, small groups, and ministries. When a deaf person needs to find out where there is an accessible church, he restricts himself to what his contact network knows. The deaf cannot autonomously locate where there is a church with worship in sign languages closest to where he is. How could we support the deaf to find accessible Christian churches?
